We are seeking a full-time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our modern, upbeat periodontal practice in the heart of Orleans. Health benefits, ideal daytime hours, complimentary parking onsite, and uniforms provided (plus so much more!). This position consists of: 1) serving primarily in a treatment coordinator role, and 2) conducting some hygiene treatments when needed.

Responsibilities:

1) Treatment coordinator responsibilities:

  • Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients to learn about the periodontal and implant dentistry treatment options that we provide
  • Greet patients and visitors, respond to patient inquiries and requests, use dental software to update patient charts and treatment plans, schedule treatments to maximize providers’ time as well as patient comfort

2) Dental hygiene responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of clinical preventative hygiene services including scaling, root planing, polishing, and topical fluoride
  • Develop a personalized care plan in which oral disease prevention is a priority introducing new preventative techniques and counselling
  • Provide a consistent patient experience during each hygiene visit
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical and professional behaviour
  • Establish and retain patient loyalty by delivering a tailored experience based on the patients’ expectations
  • Demonstrate active listening and empathy to patients using effective communication skills

About You:

  • Warm, caring, and compassionate personality
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program
  • Registered with your local College or Association with good standing
  • Up-to-date CPR Certification and Infection Prevention and Control training requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year dental hygiene experience preferred (but not required)
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Knowledge of AAP Periodontal Disease classification

Hours: Mondays-Thursdays 8:30am-4:00pm

About Us: Orleans Periodontics is a periodontal and implant dentistry specialty office located in the heart of Orleans, directly across from the Place d’Orleans Shopping Centre. Our office is led by Dr. Gordon Schwartz, Periodontist.
