Bio:  With over 25 years in dentistry, Melanie’s expertise stems from her roles as a Registered Dental Hygienist and former dental assistant. She dedicated three years as a clinician at 12Algonquin College and currently practices pa+

+rt-time in private practice. Additionally, Melanie represents Waterpik as a Professional Educator. Her deep-rooted passion for infection prevention and control was ignited by the challenges of the 2020 pandemic. This passion drove her to advance her education, leading to her current role as an Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) with Practice Health Check Corp. In this capacity, she offers IPAC education, training, and third-party auditing in dental clinics. Melanie’s hands-on experience as an RDH and ICP provides her with a keen insight into the distinctive challenges, as well as the ever-evolving hurdles, that dental hygienists face in the field of dentistry and infection prevention and control.

Course Synopsis

Join Melanie for an in-depth exploration of the ‘Top Ten’ Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Deficiencies, all from an Infection Control Practitioner’s (ICP) perspective. This course will delve into both the foundational principles of IPAC and the intricate details where deficiencies often occur. We’ll highlight the most frequent mistakes observed during dental office audits and provide actionable remedies to rectify these shortcomings.
