We all know that healthy eating is important. Yet, few of us seem to agree on the right way to do this.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Susan Macfarlane, will sort through the nutrition jargon and share the evidence behind the world’s healthiest eating patterns. She will also provide a breakdown of Canada’s new food guide and offer practical tips and solutions to help you translate nutrition knowledge into action.
Susan Macfarlane, MScA, RD is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and holds a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Saskatchewan, as well as an MSc in Human Nutrition from McGill University. During her MSc, Susan focused on the nutritional prevention and management of eating disorders, completing an advanced placement at Sick Kids in Toronto. Throughout her career, Susan has worked in many diverse community settings, including the Saskatoon Tribal Council, Loblaw Companies Limited, The Arnprior and District Family Health Team, and the Bariatric Medical Institute. In 2017, Susan opened her own private nutrition counseling practice in Ottawa, ON, where she specializes in plant-based nutrition through the lifecycle, weight management, and eating disorder recovery. by supporting the creation of new habits and skills that lead to a way of eating that is healthful, enjoyable, and sustainable.
